- Kathy and Cherry Henricks founded Two's Company Interiors
Kathleen Joan Falvo was born on January 27, 1945, the first of three children of Jotty Falvo and Aileen Effie Johnson. She was born in the San Diego U.S. Naval hospital while her father was in the Navy during WWII. Following the war, Kathy's parents returned to Los Angeles, where they lived from 1946 to 1959. In 1959, they moved to Woodland Hills in the San Fernando Valley.
Kathy attended Reseda and Taft High Schools, where she graduated in 1962. She then attended San Fernando Valley State College (later Calif. State University, Northridge), where she was a member of Alhpa Omega Sorority. She met Mike and they began dating in April, 1964. In June, 1967, she graduated from SFVSC with a degree in history and advanced studies in education, leading to a teaching credential. Several days later, she and Mike (who was on leave from the Navy) were married at the First Persbyterian Church in Tarzana, CA. They honeymooned in Santa Barbara, Carmel and San Francisco.
While Mike was overseas, Kathy began her teaching career at the Limerick Avenue School in Conaga Park, CA. She continued in this career for five years. When Mike returned from overseas in May, 1968, they moved into an apartment in Northridge, CA. For the next year, Mike finished his college education and began working for Lockheed. In March, 1971 they purchased a new home on Chimney Rock Road in Valencia, CA. In December, 1972, their first child, Kerry Lynn Scroggie, was born. In August, 1974 their second child, Allison Lee Scroggie, was born.
Rather than return to teaching, in 1975 Kathy and one of her sorority sisters, Cherry Henricks, founded an interior design company called Two's Company Interiors in Northridge, CA. They worked together building this company until 1991, when Kathy and Mike moved to Laguna Niguel, CA. At that time, Kathy began working at Design Center Assoc. in Santa Ana, CA.
Kathy enjoys gardening, reading, decorating, cooking, watching scary movies, and early morning walks with her dog Jourdan.
