• Notes

  Per History of Mercer County: On reaching majority Thomas rented a farm and later became the owner of the land and an extensive dealer in cattle and sheep, buying them in Mercer County and driving and selling them in the Eastern markets. He was nominated by the Democrats for Sheriff of Mercer County in 1866 and was defeated by a small majority.
