  Maritta's father was Rezin Clapp (spelling on the headstone) which is where John Reason got his middle name. Mother was Nancy A. Jenkins Clapp. See FindAGrave Reason Clapp married Savilla Boyles 3 Oct 1844 in Edgar County, Illinois. (IL marriage index) They are listed together in 1850 & 1860 in Edgar County. Their sons & daughters in 1860 were listed as Martha E., 14; Rebecca J., 10; Michael, 9; Lovina, 7; Elsbury, 6; & Nancy E., 4. Lovina Elledge, age 56, was also living with the family. Lovina Elledge was Savilla's mother, according to family information. Reason's first wife died in Edgar County, Illinois, according to family information. Reason Clapp remarried to Nancy Allison Emhuff in 1864 in Coles County, Illinois. (IL Statewide Marriage Index) This was also Nancy's second marriage as Samuel M. Emhuff, 23, and Laura E.
